چکیده

Abstract Aim The study aim is to determine the impact of brachioradialis release during open reduction and internal fixation distal radius fractures using a volar approach Method Total 40 patients was treated with Open intra articular fractures. Distal Brachioradialis performed 19 patients, while 21 had no BR surgery. Radiological parameters including Radial height, Inclination tilt were measured 1 month post-operatively, functional outcomes assessed modified mayo wrist scores Quick-dash Results There significant difference between age, gender pre-operative conditions indicating that both groups (BR without release) have similar demographic characteristics. Pre-operatively disturbed values for radial inclination, tilt. Postoperatively, mean closer normal ranges inclination tilt; however, height least adequately restored radiological parameter group (11.54 ± 1.35 versus 10.21 2.29 Non-BR group). Pain, status, grip strength in whereas showed higher ROM DASH P 0.048 0.025 respectively. Conclusions enhances operative fixation, restoring necessary subsequent reported complications.

Comparison of close reduction and percutaneous pin fixation as treatments for distal metaphyseal radius fractures

Background: Distal radius fractures are one of the most common fractures of skeletal system and because of the aging of population, its incidence is rising. The aim of the present research was to evaluate the close reduction and percutaneous pin fixation as a treatment option. Material and methods: 44 patients who were type 2 according to universal classification or type 2 or 3 according to Ol...

Internal fixation of distal radius fractures.

When adequate fracture reduction cannot be achieved with closed techniques, internal fixation can restore anatomy and improve functional outcomes. Volar plating, dorsal plating, and radial plating are well-described techniques that are useful in isolation or in combination, depending on the specific fracture pattern. In this article, we review each of these techniques and provide case examples ...

Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of Distal Humerus Fractures

The goal in the management of distal humerus fractures is to obtain rigid internal fixation that allows immediate rehabilitation of the extremity. The advent of anatomic plating systems as well a systematic approach to these injuries facilitates these goals. This article outlines our approach to these complex problems from injury through rehabilitation.

Rate of Improvement following Volar Plate Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of Distal Radius Fractures

Purpose. To determine recovery timeline of unstable distal radius fractures treated by open reduction and internal fixation with a locking volar plate. Methods. Data was collected prospectively on a consecutive series of twenty-seven patients during routine post-operative visits at 2 and 6 weeks, and 3, 6, 12 and 24 months. Range of motion measures and grip strength for both wrists were recorde...

displaced intra-articular fractures of the distal radius: open reduction with internal fixation versus bridging external fixation

background distal radius fracture is common in all ages. mobility and wrist function is important. the choice of treatment should aim for optimal function with minimal complications. objectives in this study we compared two surgical approaches, open reduction and internal fixation (orif) and closed reduction with external fixation (cr + ef), for treatment of intra-articular distal radius fractu...
